also after last month's blocks, i decided to take a step back and put some green and lighter colors back in to my blocks. the september blocks were filled with lots of navy and gray, which started pushing things back to the original chapters and needed some balance. i successfully got green in 3 out of the 4 blocks in one way or another, and kept that 4th block lighter in color. as usual, i still don't think i have a single block i hate... and have yet again... more new fabric that i fussy cut in to these blocks. totally worth it!

100 days 100 blocks - 91-100
i can't believe i just made my last post yesterday and now my instagram must return to normal posting status... do i even remember how to do that?
i was planning on keeping these last blocks a bit more simple and less fussy cut... buuuuuuut the shapes were just so perfect for some (aka all) of these blocks.
do i have a vision of how these blocks are all going to come together? not a single bit. but i do know that i have a few dates with a long arm rental in the next month and a half, and i 100% want to get this one done before christmas. cross your fingers and toes while staying tuned for that post!
also, just 5 days until i find out if i'm one of the grand prize winners!

100 days 100 blocks - 81-90
holy cow, here we are inching closer to the finish line!
this set of blocks wraps up the square section, which was quite a bit of fun, and rolls right on in to the final "haiku" chapter. i am really looking forward to being able to FINALLY lay all these blocks out and see how they look together. with this project wrapping up, it also means that my sewing area will be a lot less brightly colored... but i feel like i might be finding scraps of this foundation fabric clear until thanksgiving.
all the cuteness from these fussy cuts make it all worth it :)

slytherin hazel hedgehog pillow
it felt like it was taking for-ev-er for summer to end, and now here we are getting ready for halloween. well... our apartment has had bits of halloween since stores started selling things in august. no shame. along with those fall/halloween vibes came this little guy! we (the preschool staff) found out our awesome theater coordinator was leaving us for a new AMAZING job that she couldn't pass up at all. ever since i made my civil war hazel hedgehog and she had commented on it, i knew someday i would make her a little something when one of us left the program for new adventures. well... we found out on a wednesday and her last day was a friday. oy!
since she's a slytherin, i knew this fabric would be perfect. sure, it is hidden inside, but should it ever need to get washed (she's also a cat owner) then she'll get a little peek at slytherin crest hiding inside. the white with the tan just wasn't working for me. i'm sure you'll all understand :)
also, i appreciate our leaf covered patio REALLY amping up the fall vibes for these photos.
